Welcome to

Surfers Paradise Anglican

Service Times:

Sunday Services @ 7:30am and 9:30am

Wednesday midweek Service @ 10am.

Our reason for being as a church is “Bringing Jesus to Our Community.” That means we want to get to know who Jesus is, what he did, and grow our relationship with him.  It means we want to get to know, and be part of, our community – in Surfers Paradise and all over the Gold Coast.  And it means we want to introduce the two – our community and Jesus.  That’s us.

If you're a local or a visitor we look forward to welcoming you in person.

Preaching style and sermon type

At the Surfers Paradise Anglican Parish we typically preach the Gospel in an expository style which follows the assigned lectionary reading for the day.  This means the type of sermon you can expect at our church services will be evangelical and expand upon the Bible as written, yet put into contemporary terms that are easy to understand for us here and now.

Our sermons typically follow the style as advocated by Mark Dever and Greg Gilbert in their book 'Preach: Theology Meets Practice', in which they show there to be an introduction, an exegesis, an illustration, an application, and a conclusion as the five stages of a sermon.  https://www.christianbook.com/preach-theology-meets-practice/mark-dever/9781433673177/pd/673177

As our services (on Sundays) usually run for about an hour, the sermon part of the service usually takes up about 20 minutes of that time.
